Confirmation Program

Holy Shepherd takes our Confirmation program very seriously. It is designed as a two-year program with the students being confirmed in May. Students usually enter the program when they begin 7th grade, and finish the program upon completing their 8th grade year. Classes meet every Monday at 6:30 p.m. September through April. Class time begins with instruction led by Associate Pastor Mike Zurek; then students move into small discussion groups with adult leaders. Every beginning student is assigned an adult mentor with whom they meet once each month. Parents also have an opportunity to participate in a class with their child once a month.

Sunday School

Sunday school classes are offered for Middle School students on Sunday mornings, beginning at 9:00 a.m. September through May. Come join us and learn how Jesus can come alive in your world!

Junior BASIC (Brothers And Sisters In Christ) Youth Group

This group is for Junior High students only. They participate in fellowship activities approximately once a month. Service opportunities are offered throughout the year, giving the youth an opportunity to experience the joy and fulfillment of serving others. The group was developed to be a place where youth can have a sense of belonging and acceptance. (See the calendar for exact meeting dates and times).

Senior BASIC (Brothers And Sisters In Christ) Youth Group

This group is for Senior High students only. It is intended to be an extension of the relationships they developed while in the Junior High Youth Group, while continuing to give them a place where they are accepted unconditionally. The group participates in monthly social events, but there are also spiritual and service components to the group as well. Each member has a large part in deciding in what activities the group will participate.

Youth Quake

Youth Quake is a great opportunity for spiritual growth for youth aged middle school through high school freshman. Youth from across the Midwest gather annually in Chicago, Illinois, for music, fellowship, learning, and spiritual growth. The next "Quake" will be January 29-31, 2010.

Construction Zone

Construction Zone is a great opportunity for spiritual growth for youth aged high school sophomore through high school senior. Youth from across the Midwest gather annually for music, fellowship, learning, and spiritual and Christian leadership growth.

Hands to Heaven Puppet Ministry

The Holy Shepherd Hands to Heaven Puppet Ministry Team meets from September through May every Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We invite everyone 6th grade through adult who is interested in becoming part of a ministry that includes drama, puppetry, script writing, set and prop design, and construction, and A/V production to come by on any Tuesday evening and check us out!
