Shepherd's Suppers offers meals to Community
Shepherd's Suppers, a free meal to those in the community, is offered on the second Sunday of each month from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Join us for a delicious dinner in a friendly environment! On Easter, the time will coincide with the morning Pancake Breakfast. Upcoming dates:
- 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Sunday, February 12
- 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11
- 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 am. Easter Sunday, April 8
- 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 13

Exercise Classes Offered
Low-impact exercise classes, specially designed for senior citizens, are offered every Wednesday. The one hour classes begin at 9:30 a.m. with a short devotion. All are welcome to participate. Bring your exercise mat and one-pound weights if you have them.
Preparing for Lent
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, February 22, and preparations are well underway. Plan now to participate in a Lenten Small Group. Groups will read and discuss the book "Blessed to Follow: The Beatitudes as a Compass for Discipleship" by Martha Stortz.
Lenten Soup Suppers will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays from February 29 through March 28. The suppers are open to all. Please sign up in the lobby to bring soup, dessert, or bread as well as to help with the set up and clean up.
Soup Suppers are followed by Mid-Week Worship at 7:00 p.m. Wednesdays. Holden Evening Prayer will be used and the Message will be delivered through Skits.

- Men's Bible Study meets on the first and third Mondays of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Led by Dr. Corlin Stein, the group is for men aged 16 and older. Bring your Bible, borrow one from the church library, or ask for one to keep from the church office.
- Adult Sunday School meets at 9:20 a.m. Sundays. Dave Gerlach, Jackie Harris, and Nick Prabhu will lead the discussions on the parables of Jesus.
- Evening Bible Study gathers Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. Pastor Vance will lead the discussion on parts of the books of Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
- Daytime Bible Study meets from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Fridays. The discussion of the Gospel according to Luke will be led by Pastor Vance.
Sunday School
Children age 4 through 4th grade are invited to participate in the PATH Sunday School program. They begin with their parents in worship at 9:20 a.m., and then go to their classes following the Children's Sermon. Click here for the registration form. Hope in Crown Point
Hope Lutheran ELCA , a ministry of Holy Shepherd Church, is a new worshipping community in Crown Point. Pastor Freda Scales is leading worship each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in the Free Spirit Interfaith Church building. Questions about how to help with or participate in this new ministry should be addressed to Pastor Scales or Pastor Vance.
Puppet Team News
The HTH Puppeteers proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Christian puppetry during the Children's Sermon time in worship periodically throughout the school year. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Mission Trip to Guatemala
Members and friends of Holy Shepherd Church participated in a Mission Trip to Guatemala July 9 - 18, 2010. The group will traveled with Hearts in Motion to provide assistance to the people if Guatemala through medical clinics, offering Vacation Bible School, construction projects (including the playground for the Orphanage) and many other ways.
