Sunday School

The 2009-10 Sunday School theme is "Weaving Faith Into Life." We offer the following Sunday school classes on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:15 a.m., September through May:

• Preschool ages 3 & 4
• Kindergarten
• 1st & 2nd grade
• 3rd & 4th grade
• 5th & 6th grade

Sunday school usually begins with all the children and meeting in the Fellowship Hall with their familes for devotions. Children will then have music and go to their age-level classes. On the first Sunday of the month, "Worship Sunday," the children will sing just prior to the beginning of the 9:20 a.m. service and attend the service with their families through the children's sermon. At the conclusion of the children's sermon, the children will go their classes. Sunday school will feature a monthly puppet show that reinforces messages from the Bible stories the children are studying. Other components of Sunday school include crafts, music, and a Bible memorization program.

 

 

Workshops

Along with the Sunday school classes, the following workshops are offered for children:

First Communion Classes	-	for children in the fifth grade
Worship Workshop	-	for children Kindergarten age
Bible Workshop	-	for children in the 3rd and 4th grades

Advent / Christmas Play

Every year the children of the Sunday School participate and perform in the annual Sunday School Advent Play. The play is held during a Sunday afternoon, and rehearsals take place on the two preceding Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m. Please check the calendar for the exact dates and times.

The Sunday school children also sing for the opening of the 10:40 a.m. Festival Service several times during the year.

Vacation Bible School: June 16-20, 2008

Kids, preschool age (3 & 4) through 5th grade will have blast at this year's Vacation Bible School summer program during June! Our theme for 2008 will be Rainforest Adventure.! A kid-friendly meal will served each evening at 5:15 p.m. Songs, a puppet performance, and skit performances begin the program at 6:00 p.m. Kids will then move on to have fun at Bible story, craft, music, and game stations. At the end of the evening everyone gathers together to bring the evening to a close at 8:30 p.m.   Vacation Bible School will be offered free to all children. Registration forms are available in the church lobby or online (must be downloaded and printed).

Children's Fellowship Activities

Several times throughout the year these fun fellowship activities are planned with just kids in mind: Movie & Snack Night, Family Game Night, Christmas Craft Night, Bumper Bowling, and Miniature Golf. (Please check the calendar for the exact dates and times.)

Cradle Roll

All newborn members of our congregation are automatically enrolled in our Cradle Roll program. At special times throughout the year, parents with children from 0-2 years of age will receive informational/fun/helpful mailings.
